Jupiter I Realised A Few Years Ago That It Had Been Nearly 15 Years Since I Released An Album Entirely Of My Own Design And Inspiration Having Spent That Time Working On Many Commissions And Producing Records For Other Artists. The Time Had Come For Me To Express My Thoughts And Feelings On Subjects That Matter To Me And To Make A Record That Sounded Just Exactly The Way I Wanted It To. I Had Ideas About Creating A Vast Sonic Landscape Full Of Both Earthly And Other Worldly Imagery But I Wanted To Do So Without Using Synthesisers Or Samples I Wanted To Be Able To ‘play’ The Sounds Much The Same As I Like To ‘play’ The Mixing Desk And Actually Perform The Mix Rather Than Setting It Up Like A Static Oil Painting! So Every Single Sound Every Element Has Been Performed By A Musician Recorded Organically But Then Processed With Various Effects And Treatments To Create Living Breathing Textures A Complexity Of Sound All Coming From The Point Source Of A Musical Performance. So There Are No Synthesisers Or Samples On This Record At All Except For The Moog Taurus Bass Pedals Which I Use In Place Of Bass Guitar On Some Tracks As I Love Its Deep Sonorous Sound. My Interests In Science Cosmology And The Wondrous Areas Where They Meet Spirituality And The Meta-Physical Such As Quantum Physics And Philosophy Have Provided My Lyrical Themes While My Experience With Ambient Music Has Remained Present During The Transition To Song Writing Yet I Have Been Able To Experiment With More Rhythmical Elements Thanks To My Awesome Drummers Sacha And Liam Both Of Whom Have A Truly Infectious Groove! And I Am Incredibly Fortunate To Have Met Danny Thompson Who Kindly Added His Great Growling Bass ‘Victoria’ To The Title Track. I Hope This Album Takes You Somewhere Close To The Joyful Aural World I Am Blessed To Find Myself In. - Harvey Summers
