Mount Eerie Represents The Latest Evolution Of Phil Elverum's Musical Vision. Formerly Known As The Microphones Elverum Began Mount Eerie In 2003 Maintaining His Previous Project's Subtle Lo-Fi And Lyrically Dense Fuzz-Folk Aesthetic. Elverum Explained This Change In An 2003 Interview With Discorder Asserting That "Mount Eerie Is A New Project. The Microphones Was Completed Or At Least At A Good Stopping Point. I Did It Because I Am Ready For New Things. I Am New." As Mount Eerie Phil Typically Works With Synthesizers Guitars Drums And The Accenting Voices Of Mirah The Blow And Fellow K-Records/Anacortes Washington Friends. Mount Eerie's Album "Seven New Songs Of Mount Eerie" Was Also The First Recording Released On Phil's New Label P.W.Elverum & Sun. All Songs From That Recording Are Available For Free Download In The Internet Archive.

Frogtoon Music Album Info: Dawn

Dawn Is The Third Full-Length Album By Mount Eerie. It Was Officially Released 1 November 2008 On P. W. Elverum & Sun. The Songs Were All Written By Phil Elverum During The Winter Of 2002–03 Which He Spent Alone In A Cabin In A Remote Part Of Norway. The Album Was Released On CD Concurrently With An 144-Page Hardcover Book And 16 Color Photo Cards. The Book Includes Elverum's Journal Entries And Drawings From His Norway Trip. The Book Is Bound In Paper That Gives The Feeling Of Wood. The Album Was Also Released As Just An LP Packaged With Elverum Self-Portraits Drawn From The Reflection Of A Window In The Cabin In Norway. Many Of The Songs Appear On Earlier Releases By Mount Eerie. "Moon Sequel" Is A Follow-Up To The Microphones' Song "The Moon" And It Carries The Same Melody. The Song "Voice In Headphones" Which Also Appears On Lost Wisdom Released A Month Earlier Reprises The Chorus From Björk's Song "Undo" Over A Different Verse. Elverum Had Previously Covered Björk's "All Is Full Of Love" On The 2001 Microphones Album Blood.
