The Borodin String Quartet Originated In 1945 In The Former Soviet Union As The Moscow Philharmonic Quartet. In 1955 The Quartet Was Renamed After Alexander Borodin A Russian Composer And Chemist Especially Interested In Creating Uniquely Russian Art Forms. Their Performance Of Beethoven's Grosse Fuge For String Quartet In B Flat Major Op.133 Is A Window Into Their Unique Sound And Style.
