"Lies" Is The Ninth Track On Evanescence's Demo Album Origin. Bruce Fitzhugh Of The Band 'Living Sacrifice' Provided The Male Vocals And Stephanie Pierce Provided The Female Backup Vocals On The Origin Version. Early In The 2001-2002 Demo Sessions For Fallen This Song Was Remade With Backup Vocals From David Hodges But With Different Lyrics. The Latter Version Also Known As “It Was All A Lie” Was Labelled By Fans As A "remix" But Amy Lee Noted That Fans Should Refer To It As "Post-Origin Demo". In September 2019 A Never-Before-Seen Footage Of What Is Credited As The First Evanescence Live Performance Ever Taped Dated 1998 Was Uploaded On YouTube. It's The Earliest Footage Of "Lies" Performed One Year Prior To Its Release On Origin. Later In May 1999 The Song Would Be Performed Live Again At Vino's Bar Whose Footage Was Leaked In April 2009.
