Frogtoon Music - Song Info: Indian Summer

"Indian Summer" Is The Debut And Lead Single To Jai Wolf's EP "Kindred Spirits" Which Released On November 18 2016. The Single Was Released The Year Before On June 9. Jai Wolf Wrote On Instagram "Back In 2015 Harrison From Odesza Had Asked Me To Send Him Songs To Release On Their Newly Founded Label Foreign Family. I Was Going Through A Bunch Of Demos I Had But I Wasn’t Really Feeling Strongly About Any Of Them So I Decided To Start Something From Scratch. By The Time I Had Decided That I Had About A Week To Get It To Them For A Summer Release. My Friend Nabil Had Been Suggesting For A Long Time That I Should Incorporate Some Indian Classical Elements Into My Music And It Was Something I Had Put Off For Years. So I Decided To Give It A Go. Indian Summer At Its Core Is A Really Simple Song It’s 2 Chords With A Repeating Vocal Sample. The Arrangement Was Completed In 2 Days And I Spent The Following 5 Laboring Over The Mix. My Initial Arrangement Was A Bit Long And Odesza Had Suggested Cutting Out Some Parts. I Initially Titled The Beat ‘Padma’ After A River In Bangladesh But Later I Was Debating Between ‘Indian Summer’ And ‘Infinite Summer’. I Polled All My Friends To Name The Song But It Was An Even 50/50. It Was A Phone Call From Harrison That Eventually Swayed Me He Said That ‘Indian Summer’ Was The Right Title For It. At First I Thought The Song Was Really Weird And Didn’t Think People Would Enjoy It. But It Became This Unstoppable Force Which Took Me By Surprise. I Feel Like The Song Became Somewhat Of A Spiritual Anthem For Adventure. I’ve Seen So Many People Use The Song In Videos Where They’re Exploring The World Skydiving Running Snowboarding Etc. This Eventually Became The Inspiration For The Official Music Video How One Person Finds Other Kindred Spirits Through The Spirit Of Adventure."
