Three bands, one from the UK, one from Scandinavia and one from Japan, are known by Cosmic Trigger. 1) Hailing from the UK, Jamie spent his formative years rubbing shoulders with critically acclaimed artists and producers working alongside producer Martin ‘Youth’ Glover (Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, The Verve), upon leaving Meridian Studios in 2018 Jamie started his Cosmic Trigger project and was soon spotted by Simon Posford (Shpongle, Younger Brother) who took him on as a studio assistant and collaborator. Jamie has since spread his wings and played some of the biggest electronic music festivals in Europe and America including appearances at Burning Man, Ozora and Boom, as well as supporting artists such as Thievery Corporation, Shpongle, Kruder & Dorfmeister, DJ Shadow, Nightmares On Wax and Ott. Since his official Shpongle remix album and exploratory EP ‘Forager’s Delight’ his reputation for charismatic live shows, meticulous attention to detail and penchant for psychedelic sound design has grown exponentially, promising an ever more illustrious career ahead. 2) The Scandinavian ambient duo Cosmic Trigger released Polar Regions in 1993 on Silent Records . "After 20 years of meditative mining, Tor Af Storvatten and Piitu Lintunen embarked on a spiritual quest through Northern wastelands and Norse mythologies that led them to Chalmers University in Gotenburg, Sweden. According to the liner notes, these two Nordic visionaries coincidentally met up with A.M. McKenzie (The Hafler Trio) and Zbigniew Karkowski, who were working in Chalmers and agreed to help record this album. Af Storvatten and Lintunen's research has led to this austere collection of shimmering ambience and profound ascesis that is capable of elevating one's state of being on all levels."
