DXN aka Dan Cross is an electronic music producer and sound artist. He has also produced several short films. Born in Bristol 1975 he grew up in Wotton-Under-Edge, in rural Gloucestershire. After Graduating from the Hull School of Art and Design (BA hons Phonic Art) in 2001, he began developing his sound, and performing at various venues around Hull. Often compared to Plaid and Autechre his sound is melodic, glitchy, complex, dark and uplifting with emphasis on texture and subtle emotive atmosphere, ranging from Warp/Rephlex Records style Braindance to more experimental soundscapes. In 2003 he received funding from Hull Time Based Arts to produce a compilation CD Sponic Mesh featuring local electronic producers and sound artists. This project was released under the name Tegleg Records. In 2007 Dan formed a collective with fellow Tegleg artists Keith Bianchi and Mick Robinson with the aim of transforming Tegleg Records into a Legitimate Business.
