(1) Fire in Cairo began as a side project from Thom Abildgaard of the JSBs in early 2008. Initially a singer songwriter focused outlet for songs that did not fit the JSBs pop ethos, the project soon took a brief sojourn in experimental electronica, but recently has blossomed into a fully formed, fully fledged post-punk outfit incorporating a slice of new wave and electronica. Proper demo recordings have yet to be made, and all recordings feature only Thom on all instruments and loops. Soon this shall be rectified. Fire in Cairo features: Thom on vocals, guitars and synths. Sean on bass and backing vocals. Sam on guitars and backing vocals. Harley on drums. (2) Croatian indie band. Zagreb-based four-piece alternative rock band Fire in Cairo was formed in 2016 with the main goal to create contemporary music drawing strong influence from British rock bands, both old and new such as The Beatles and Arctic Monkeys and fusing it with sounds inspired by modern artists such as Jack White and Thundercat while generating occasional rawness in the style of Fugazi at the same time. Apart from the contemporary sound, their main focus is to create song arrangements that are rich in sound and harmonically unique in the rock genre, both vocally and instrumentally while retaining the listener's attention with catchy choruses.
