Monitoimikone was founded somewhere in year 2005 by Melodica-Man, DJ Åkka and O. LehtoPekka. The first studio session was only supposed to be a (bad) joke, but after guys recorded two legendary songs called PeltoLada and Maanantaiaamun krapula they soon realized they could take the whole thing a bit farther. After a while the drummer of the band, O. LehtoPekka quit the band and Monitoimikone had to go to look for a new "drummer". They found a promising new guy called Sami "Sampsa" Pellervoinen who was ready for a challenge. Shortly after that Monitoimikone published their first recording, called "Hissimusiikkia" (which means Elevator Music in english). The CD gained a cult status in some circles. The next CD was something that is still considered one of the biggest revolutions in musical genres. Monitoimikone got a brand new recording contract with Aton Records, which has also gained a cult status, mainly because of it's owner, Darkem. In the new album, called "Luolamies" (Caveman), guys combined semi-progressive metal with African drum music, country vibes and singing and playing in rhytmical disorder, managing it to sound "not too bad", as Melodica-Man stated afterwards. Monitoimikone criticizes society's big problems such as moped gangs and schools not providing proper food for students. After the great success of Luolamies LP, Monitoimikone left the music business. There have been rumours about them coming back eventually, though. Only time will show, if the rumours have any meat on their bones...
