Now we all start this journey called life as kids. As kids, we are ever curious creators & destroyers, imaginative & free and full of energy! We haven't been built up or broken down by concepts like boundaries or rules, conventions or judgments. We are still naive and learning, ever learning, hungering for the newness of life. But we grow older! We slow down. We tire. We become rigid or simply content with our routine in our “bubbles,” what we now accept as reality.

We forget the unlimited potential we all possess as creators! But life is funny, and it surprises us constantly. The playful animal Red Fox has been a recurring theme in my life. Alone, I have crossed paths with many a fox, walking about as I do. When I was 17, a wise woman named Jade, a real druid, told me the Red Fox was my spirit animal. Just last year, I began to envision putting out a record. I was playing a cheap classical guitar all summer that I bought in southern Mexico. I was writing a bunch of songs, coming up with ideas, more creative than I had felt in awhile. It was just the beginning of the manifestation. For Halloween, I decided I wanted to be the Red Fox. In Flagstaff, Halloween can be extremely cold at night (I don't know how those girls wear nothing!); being a fox would be warm. I needed a fox suit! My friend Dallas had made me a lion suit for an earlier Halloween so BAM. The fox suit was great! I started wearing it out on other nights to dance in or just be silly. It was fun! That was when the idea for R3DF0X really started. Into last winter, a young guru from the Bless Side came into my life with a present: a real fox tail! It was definitely a sign to get creating. I started gathering all the equipment I would need to record and make the songs. Some of my friends rapped, sang, even played cello on one of the tracks. The lyrical content is theirs to own, but I can say that I endorse and respect what they have to say. I am grateful for such beautiful people as well as excited to meet new people who get involved! Now, with the help of my dad and friends, and a lot of trial & error, the music has really come together this summer...and I keep learning! So far, I have worn the second prototype fox suit (thanks Dallas) when I perform. I find that as a fox, people are less intimidated by such a playful character. I want to connect with people. As a creator of music, I am attempting to connect with and share that youthful energy we all have within. I find that life is much more fun when we can celebrate our inner child. For me, I can celebrate mine through music, and DANCING! This okie has a self-produced 12" out! W00P W00P! 70V3 3T3RN47, R3DF0X
