Multiple artists with the name Sar exist. 1) "Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The debut album as a demo was released in 2009 naming "The War Manifesto". The band's music is inspired by some DSBMs like Sortsind, Silencer, Cry of Silence, Riviere Du Nord, Bleak and some others in this style; and the word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English. This selection is due to high influence of Sortsind's music on this band.But "Sår" like all of these bands is under undeniable influence of the greatest leader of Black Metal scene within all times, Burzum. The influences of bands in other styles like Darkthrone, Mayhem, Marduk, Immortal, Gorgoroth, Belenos and other old school bands can't also be denied. Lyrics' themes are about depression, gloom and Nihilism, and one of the most dominant inspiring elements on band's lyrics may be thoughts of the great Iranian author, Sadegh Hedayat, who ended up his life in 1951. 2) Pop rock / ska / reggae band from Majalaya, Indonesia, that sing in Sundanese. 3) Sarah Van der Berg, better known as SAR, was mainly an future bass producer, but also released "Come On" which is Progressive. She unfortunately passed away in 2025 after dealing with bullying and decided to end her life. After talks between the parents and NCR, there was said that NCR with all profits by SAR's releases, will be donated to charity's about mental health, and also the unreleased songs will not be released.
