What can be hidden in the suitcase of a pirate? Perhaps a skeleton, perhaps of gold, perhaps the questions that no one can give an answer, perhaps tales and daydreams of distant lands, but also stories and tales of our neighbors lived on the skin of every day ... What can be hidden in the suitcase of a pirate? Perhaps a skeleton, perhaps of gold, perhaps the questions that no one can give an answer, perhaps tales and daydreams of distant lands, but also stories and tales of our neighbors lived on the skin of every day ... And in the case of the pirates in the ship Gattamolesta surely there is so much good music, not to hide from throw in people's faces, to lead them into the vortex of vertigo gipsy dancing to the beat. The group was born in Forlì Power-Folk of the road. Even the curious name denotes the character a bit 'boisterous and playful component, since in that of Ravenna "cat" also means "drunk". And here you are immediately connected to the rivers of wine flowing in folk festivals, where the band often plays. But back to the road and the nature of buskers, of which retain the spontaneity and improvisation vein. Not born then as a group stage, now the Gattamolesta are to be hired for various concerts and all this thanks to the high level musicians. Andrea Gatto, founder, vocals and guitar, inexhaustible charisma, he sparks in front of the public who tames naturally. To create the pandemonium noise, with him, Nicola Fiore on bass, Grandparents Jader on drums, Luigi Flocco on accordion. And in every show there is a special guest may be Eusebio Martinelli, trumpeter Vinicio Capossela, or Aleksandar Rajkovic, trombonist of Goran Bregovic. "Since 2006 we are also bound passion for popular music. He started down the street and acoustic set, starting with no great pretensions, now many of us and so here we are looking for limestone also large stages throughout Europe." Andrea says Gatta. "Last year we attended the Buskers Festival in Barcelona and was one of the richest experiences of our artistic life." Underlying the project is to find the roots of Balkan music, working on sounds and rhythms gypsies, but also dye their original songs with lyrics in Italian, which fish in the songwriting of the shop. The inspiration comes from Bregovic, Kusturica, Gogol Bordello, but also by Tom Waits and band of the 80s like the Dead or Alive. Pirates of the Power-Romagna Folk sings and plays the carnal and platonic love, sadness and loneliness, of carelessness lost and disappointments, always with the pride characteristic of Gypsy population, which can never to despair, but face everything with music. I Gattamolesta defend their art with the inner strength that gives the incentive to live with passion and playfulness, even in mishaps. And assist them to live not leave indifferent.
