The Spin Wires are a three-piece Buffalo based band that plays a blend of dance rock infused with elements of punk, new wave and garage rock. Tyson (Guitar/Vocals) met Joe (Drums) at a Beer Olympics tournament during the Summer of 2012. After being cheated out of the bronze medal in a highly contested game of baggo, the duo discovered they shared a passion for upbeat punk music. A few days later, at a local bar, they were approached by a slightly inebriated RJ (Bass/Vocals). RJ adamantly stated he would play any instrument and any type of music so long as we drank Canadian beer while doing it. With the addition of this bassist with such discriminating tastes The Spin Wires were born. Pushing the limits of their punk roots The Spin Wires incorporate a number of exciting elements, additional instruments and personas during their live shows. A live attendee of a Spin Wires show might catch the band dressed as if they just escaped the working world or as famous DC superheroes. Further, the band regularly plays live with a violinist, saxophonist, keyboardist and rotating roster of tambourine girls. While striving to create excellent, uniquely catchy music, The Spin Wires love to have fun and never take themselves too seriously- a refreshing element in both their live shows and evident throughout their recordings. They embody the best elements of bands like Franz Ferdinand, Offspring and The Arctic Monkeys Contact them at thespinwires@gmail.com Their album art was done by Hungarian Artist Poliip.
