Country rap is a musical style that combines the flow, production-emphasis, and demeanour of Hip Hop with the lyrical content and general approach of Country music. Pioneered in the early 2000s by Bubba Sparxxx and brought to the mainstream by the likes of Colt Ford, Cowboy Troy, and Big Smo during the latter end of the decade, the merges both rural and urban conventions to create a sound that is uniformly distinct from Contemporary Country music.

During the late 2010s, some crossover has been made between country rap and Trap. This fusion has been pioneered by Young Thug on his album Beautiful Thugger Girls and popularized by Lil Nas X with his international hit "Old Town Road". This crossover has sometimes been labeled as "country trap".
