There are at least seven artists go by the name Cecilia. 1) Cecilia (born Evangelina Sobredo; October 11, 1948 - August 2, 1976) was a Spanish singer/songwriter. Due to her father's work as a diplomat, her first language was English and lived in several countries during her childhood, such as Portugal, Israel, United Kingdom or United States. She decided to relocate to Spain in the 1960's, where she got her degree in Law Studies before pursuing a career in music. Her first single was called Expresión, a joint collaboration with fellow singer/songwriters Nacho Sáez and Julio Seijas released in 1970. A year later she got a solo deal with CBS and released her debut album, Cecilia, in 1972, which included songs in both English and Spanish. In 1973 she released her sophomore album, 2, which saw the singer exploring darker sounds and themes. In 1975 she represented Spain in the OTI Music Festival where she came in second place with the song Amor de medianoche. That very same year she released her third and final album, Un ramito de violetas, whose title-track became a huge hit and remains her biggest single to date. She died in a car accident on August 2, 1976. She was 27. 2.Mireya Cecilia Ramona Pantoja Levi (Tomé, October 21, 1943 - Santiago, July 24, 2023) better known as “Cecilia” or “Cecilia, la Incomparable”, was a Chilean singer-songwriter of Jewish origin, representative of the New Wave in the 1960s. Cecilia broke out as a soloist in the full glare of the New Wave, rising towards the mid-1960s as the biggest youth star of the time, although her style and repertoire did not fully respond to the mold of the movement. While her peers of her generation were limited to dubbing the hit songs in the United States, Cecilia acquired a personality of her own with a diverse catalog of songs in the Latin and European musical tradition. She tackled a variety of musical styles, including bolero, Italian tango, mambo, chachachá and rock and roll. Her musical producer and then artistic director of the Odeon label, Ruben Nouzeilles, considered Cecilia to be unique among the musicians of her generation. Hence the name of her second solo long play, La incomparable (1965), the title by which she would be known in the following decades. 3.Cecilia is a Classical crossover singer, who originally comes from Norway. Known for her famous rendition of Amazing Grace. Cecilia (Cecilia "Lili" Plieninge) is a German singer and musician from Stuttgart. 5. Mélissa Gagné (CECILIA, Babi Audi) is a French-Canadian composer based in Napoli, Italy. 6. Cecilia (born Cecilia-Martina Mägi, 18.2.2000, Tallinn, Estonia) . Semi-finalist in Eesti otsib Superstaari (Estonian Pop Idol) 7th season 2018. She took part in Eesti Laul 2024 (Estonian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024) with the song FOMO, and released her first album SULL&FEIM in November 2025. 7. CECILIA is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter inspired by 1980s Japanese city pop. She is also a member of the Toronto-based citypop band Next Perfect Day.
