Emma Fair Band are a jazz fusion folk rock band from Launceston Tasmania. Featuring Emma Fair's pristene vocals, her heart-felt songwriting is raised to great heights and drawn to sudden sullen depths by a manic array of thrashy jazz inspired arrangements. Largely driven by acoustic guitar, piano and organ, Emma Fair Band embrace electric guitars, saxophones, bass and drums to produce an eclectic and diverse sound palette. Members knew each other for several years as each played around the local music scene in various outfits before coming together in early 2007 to collaborate on Emma’s songs. By their 3rd show, the Emma Fair Band were impressing audiences, gaining the right to represent Tasmania and compete in Australia's National Campus Band Competition in Melbourne this year and achieved #2 for 3 consecutive weeks running on Triple J’s “Unearthed” website for their track “Who Feels it the Same”. This year Emma is pursuing her dreams of performing on stage by studying Theatre & Performance in Brisbane. During her frequent visits back to her hometown, the Emma Fair Band have put countless hours into recording their first major release "In Search of Spring" due Summer 2009. A 5 track pre-release EP edition was released August 2009.
