When geology and fashion collide, you get a whole lot of artistic nothingness disguised as the solo project of Kitt. A writer by who secretly wishes she could write epic Broadway musicals and dance-pop anthems instead of contrived short stories and unsellable screenplays, KittKat brings classically-trained technique and rampant trendyness together in an epic explosion of electroacoustic ethereality. A piano player since the age of five, KittKat manipulates traditional chord voicings and progressions by placing a modern sound and funky drum beats on top of stereotypically popular song structure. Self taught on a variety of other instruments, the final product is exactly what a Los Angeles 20-something recording songs on her laptop would sound like---lo-fi awesomness. Armed with an arsenal of instruments, including a Roland D-10 synthesizer, various grand pianos, a concert grand harp, tambourine, Oscar Schmidt autoharp, GhettoTech 9.99 keyboard, and a Yamaha acoustic guitar, Pebbles for Pockets will entertain and save one from boredom. Oh yeah. KittKat likes covers. A lot. www.myspace.com/pebblesforpockets
