Sol3m is a theme-based musical project, started by Kristofur Mihler with the aid of longtime friends Nic Burman and Justin Wuolley. The concept of the project finds its routes some years ago (1995) within the confines of the mind of frontman Mihler, and his research into life and the depth of his own being. Spending countless days and nights pouring over different sources of knowledge, not leaving one stone unturned, losing sleep and wondering "what is the point of all this?" he finally found an end to the insanity brought on by his quest; Sol3m. Though two of the three had met early on in life (Kristofur and Nic), around the age of 8, Justin came along in teenage years and made a perfect addition to the group of friends that eventually spawned several bands and a revolution that could only be met by war. Some of those bands include Holographic Beast, Abstract Rabbit, Cloud 9, The UST, The Last Of Mourning Sun, Faith Fracture, and Mürken Kepriulous (Jordan, Nic, Tory, Kristofur) just to name a few. Mihler, Burman and Wuolley spent most of their years in Washington State where they learned the harder side of life and what it feels like to long for something more. All three were too big for such small towns/minds and found that their own company, more often than not, was more pleasurable than what was readily available in the outside world. Though Washington has produced some of the best music of any generation, it is obvious to them that an artists struggle to succeed and overcome all is the exact nature of said beast. Much of the material currently available is written by Mihler alone, as in his own words, "Every time I pick up a guitar I write five new songs." His songwriting ability has been compared to Lennon and Cobain many times by close friends as he has a deep voice louder than his generation can handle. Mihler hopes to one day see a world united in love and the sadness that surrounds everything banished back into the darkness from which it came. All three (Kristofur, Nic, Justin) share a common bond in quizzical humor and quick wit. Not a day goes by where they aren't smiling, laughing and carrying on in some manner or another. This is only the first stage of Sol3m's depressive overtones, learning to overcome the one thing that truly binds us all to this world; our-selves. They believe that the world as a whole takes life a bit too seriously most of the time and stepping outside of that cage is the first step toward true freedom of self in all forms. According to them, "it's all just a ride and we should be having a good time, otherwise none of us are really living at all." To peer into their minds three quotes can be extracted: Justin - If it feels good... suck me. Nic - Jesus faked his own death. Kristofur - I'm neither pro nor con, I'm right. So fuck your witty cynicism and youthful speculation, you're still wrong.
