Artist Biography For Core Project
Core Project Are A Heavy Rock Band With Progressive And Expansive Songwriting Musical Styles. The Group Was Formed In London In 2004 By Keyboardist And Erstwhile Vocalist Dan Jones And Guitarist Drazic Lecutier. Their Music Is A Fusion Of Modern American Metal Soundscapes Such As Those Found In Tool Dream Theater And Pantera And British Classic Progressive Rock Songwriting Sensibilities Such As Those Expounded By Led Zeppelin Rush Yes King Crimson And Manfred Mann. They Feature Expansive Songs And Differing Tones And Moods And While They Are Sometimes Classified As Metal The Vocals Are Characterised By A Very Melodious Sound. Recently The Recruitment Of Dom Giles On Vocals Has Meant That Core Project Are Able To Lend Different Vocal Styles To Different Passages Within Their Music With Giles Offering A Clean Sound Whilst Jones Uses A Dirtier Tone. Core Project Recruited Nick Chandler Bass And Pawel Zawadzki Drums And Begain To Play Their Music Throughout The London Underground Metal And Rock Scene. The Released Their Debut Album Singularities Part 1 In 2009. The Album Was Mastered And Engineered By The Legendary Howie Weinberg Who Has Previously Worked With Red Hot Chili Peppers Aerosmith Jeff Buckley Slayer And Pantera. The Album Was A Minor Success In The Underground Scene But Soon Afterwards Chandler And Zawadzki Left The Band Citing An Inability To Commit. Core Project Replaced Them With Alex McElhinney On Bass And Remi Jalabert On Drums And Completed A Mini Tour Of England In Early 2010 To Promote The Album. In Mid 2010 The Band Recruited Dom Giles As Lead Vocalist Causing Jones To Become A Keyboardist Solely Although Still Contributing To Backing Vocals. The Success Of Singuarities Part 1 Was Rewarded With A Slot At Bloodstock Open Air 2010 The UK's Biggest Independent Metal Festival. Core Project Are Releasing A DVD Of Their Performance At Bloodstock In Late 2010 While The Official Bloodstock DVD Will Feature A Performance Of Core Project's Song Marionette. Core Project Are Now Focusing On Writing And Recording Material For Their Second Album Which Is As Yet Untitled And Will Be Released In Early 2011. The Band Have Stated That The Second Album Will Be More Focused On Songwriting And Big Choruses And Feature A Greater Amount Of Songs. The First Single Marionette Is Due To Be Released In Late 2010. Following The Release Of The Second Album The Band Will Concentrate On Recording And Releasing The Conceptual Follow Up To Singularities Part 1 Entitled Singularities Part 2 Seven Stages To Madness. The Band Stated That They Wanted To Release Some New And Different Material For Their Live Shows And Listeners Before Returning To The Concluding Section Of The Singularities Opus.
