Gary Morris Born December 7 1948 Is An American Country Music Singer And Theater Actor. Enjoying A String Of 'countrypolitan' Hit Songs Throughout The 80s He's Best Known For The 1983 Ballad "Wind Beneath My Wings" As Well As For His Famous Role In The Critically Acclaimed 'Les Misérables' Musical With Morris Playing Jean Valjean For Many Years On Stage And Also Starring In Its Internationally Popular 1989 Soundtrack Album. He's Been Successful In Other Acting Gigs As Well. Gary Morris Was Born As Gary Gwyn Morris In Ft. Worth Texas In 1948. He Had Two Siblings A Twin Sister And A Younger Brother. In 1976 When Presidential Candidate Jimmy Carter Was Running For Office Morris Signed On With The Campaign And Sang At Fundraisers For Him. After Carter Won The Election Morris Performed At The White House. Fatefully The Audience Featured Nashville Country Music Producer Norro Wilson. Later On Morris Presented Wilson With A Demo Tape And Wilson Loved What He Heard. In No Time Morris Was Signed To Wilson's Label Warner Bros. Records. Morris Soon Began Recording For Warner Bros. In 1981 He Finally Landed His First Top 10 Hit With "Headed For A Heartache". Fans Greatly Enjoyed His Emotive Passionate Take On The Contemporary Country Sound. The Following Year He Had Two More Top 20 Country Hits Titled "Don't Look Back" And "Dreams Die Hard". Not Content To Rest After This Initial Success Morris Continued Recording And Set His Sights Even Higher.
