Slackeye Slim Is A Americana Garage Band From Rural Southwest Wisconsin. The Band Often Relies Heavily On Lyrical Imagery To Create Their Cinematic Sound. The Four-Piece Band Features A Revolving Lineup And Is Headed By Joe Frankland Former Music Critic Carnie And Radio Announcer. Slackeye Slim Was Formed In Wooster Ohio In 2006. Frankland Initially Treated It As A Solo Project Playing Many Shows In Akron Cleveland Detroit And Pittsburgh. After Developing A Devoted Local Following Frankland Decided To Independently Release Slackeye Slim’s Debut Album Texas Whore Pleaser. Texas Whore Pleaser Came Out On Christmas Day Of 2007. Described By Truth About Music As A “lo-Fi Alt Country Sound That Was Soaked In Dead Kennedys And Black Flag Tributes ” Slackeye Slim’s Debut Album Featured A Guest Vocal Appearance By Lonesome Wyatt Those Poor Bastards And Saw A Track Included On Devil’s Ruin Records’ 2008 Compilation Rodentia The Best Of Dark Roots Music. Slackeye Slim’s First Tour Was A Quick Run Through Montana In December Of 2007. While In Montana Joe Frankland Met Singer/songwriter Graham Lindsey. Frankland Moved To Anaconda Montana A Few Months Later And Began To Write Slackeye Slim’s Second Album El Santo Grial La Pistola Piadosa Recruiting Lindsey To Help Write Some Of The Music. For El Santo Grial The Two Mine And Combine Multiple Styles -- Genre-Bending With An Equal Diversity Of Instruments -- For The 14 Songs Influenced By Film And Literature As Much As Frankland's Religious Upbringing. The Album Was Released Digitally On June 21 2011 And On CD By Farmageddon Records On August 2 2011.
