The Hairy Nobs Are A Cult Alternative Band Based In Christchurch New Zealand. They Are Most Well-Known For Their Lyrics Which Take On Explicitly Sexual And More Recently Political Issues Ranging From The Influence Of Pop Culture To Government Lobbyists To Censorship. They Are An Unabashedly "fanboy" Group With Songs About Bruce Campbell And Star Wars Often Gracing Their Live Sets. Their Lyrics Also Refer To Internet Phenomena Such As Shock Sites And Message Boards. Musically They Alternate Between Synth-Pop Funk And Heavy Rock. Their First Album "The Endless Ass-To-Mouth Extravaganza" Was Released In Mid- 2005 Along With The Single "Stretched Sagging Worn-Out Anus" A Tribute To The Website Goatse. Their Second Album "Non-Fiction" Was Released In Early 2006 To Positive Reviews Despite The Lead Single "Penis ID" Failing To Get Airplay. The Band Quickly Followed Up "Non-Fiction" With "What We Make For Ourselves" Hailed As A Large Musical Advancement And A Maturing Of Lyrical Content. There Was Some Criticism By Fans Though That The Band's Early Free Spirit Had Gone A Criticism That Was Confirmed When Richard Williamson Frontman Quit The Band After The Album's Release Claiming That The Other Band Members "stole My Fucking Band From Me". Williamson Released A Limited-Edition Solo Album "Fighting Off Dinosaurs With My Bare Hands" In August 2006 The Rest Of The Band Continue To Play Live Supporting Speeding Motorcycle On Their New Zealand Tour. Williamson Has Recently Returned To The Band And The Fourth Nobs Album "Let's Get Tracheotomies" Was Released On The 3rd Of March 2007 To Mixed Reviews Most Citing Its Serious Nature As Its Primary Fault Along With A Bonus EP "Post Comment" Which Was Received Much Better By Fans And Critics.
