Agents of Insight are a Sydney trio who converge regularly in alternatively a garage or printing factory in the Northern Beaches. They were formed at North Sydney Boys High School in 2006 and have spent the last three years or so battling the authorities, the elements and fate in order to somehow come together and rehearse, refining their sound. Agents of Insight are a Sydney trio who converge regularly in alternatively a garage or printing factory in the Northern Beaches. They were formed at North Sydney Boys High School in 2006 and have spent the last three years or so battling the authorities, the elements and fate in order to somehow come together and rehearse, refining their sound. There have been some changes on the way, and the original foursome has new been stripped down to guitarist and lead singer Adam Disney, bassist and backing vocalist Matthew Collins and drummer Liam Blake. Other than fitting within the incredibly broad category of ‘Rock’, it is hard to describe their sound, in no small part due to the diverse mix of influences that each member brings into the mix. Their guitarist lists Black Sabbath, Neil Young and Miles Davis among his influences, their bassist is also a prodigious trumpet player and a lover of funk while their drummer listens to anything metal. Their sound is contains the fuzzed out blues of classic rock, the pounding grunge of modern rock, and psychedelic all rooted in a solid, driving groove.
