With a strong love for obscure instrumentals and an even stronger hate for Mumford and Sons, BTJ Hoodrats (stylized BTJ HØØDRATS) is an up and coming hip hop trio consisting of the members Beretta Fry, T- Mungrey, and Jakey Stank. The members became friends through their love for music and Star Wars Jedi academy. After being inspired by Hip Hop acts such as "MF DOOM" and popular abstract Christian Rapper "Dizzy Daze", the members decided that they would take their own shot at Hip Hop and began creating bars and beats of their own in March 2020. On May 22 , 2020, the group released the single titled "The Dark Gospel", which was the first lead single off their debut self titled album "BTJ HØØDRATS". Its rumored that while making the song, the group consumed an entire bottle of melatonin pills and drifted off into a group coma. When they awoke, each member spoke of a book they had all dreamt about. They referred to this book as "The Dark Gospel" and immediately went to make a song about what else they all saw in their dreams. Once finished with the song, they decided to name it after the book they had all seen. The debut track was met with much critical acclaim, with some online users calling it "The best song of the decade". Their debut album is set to be released in Summer of 2020
