Dead Cacti is the creative outlet of the former vocalist of influential Japanese underground metal 's@lted鬮cumバ；32' following their disbanding after releasing a single EP in the summer of 2007. Although coming from a heavy metal background, Dead Cacti encompasses a lot of genres, including electro, orchestral, alternative and pretentious styles, as well as traditional rock. The band released a number of singles throughout 2008 and 2009, as well as a series of remixes, which were collected and, along with two tracks from the debut SK32 demo and released in 2009's "The Archive". A few months later the single 'Neko Punch' was released, followed by 'Me & My Zombie' in 2010. Despite huge critical acclaim these two singles failed to generate enough finance to support the recording of a debut album and the project went on hiatus until summer of 2011. In a rare interview, Mr. Cacti described the upcoming release as 'Everything I've wanted to do since starting this project in 2008. It's huge, sweeping and also fragile and delicate at the same time. Think of listening to Ride The Lightning whilst watching a puppy playing with a loaded pistol. Scary, but adorable.'
