There are two different projects under this name. 1. The Anachronist is a progressive technical death metal project from Baltimore, Maryland. Created by Noyan Tokgozoglu, who writes and performs everything, and recorded by Tre Watson, the debut release of The Anachronist will be available soon. 2. The Anachronist is the moniker of Anglo-American singer-songwriter and producer Jack Shelton (Clouds From the Underground, The Porcupine Magician). Born in London, he is currently based in the UK after spending 15 years in America. Inspired by strange experiences in his first year of University, he began putting together psychedelic lo-fi demos remixing old tracks from his time working with People at the Sea which eventually turned into several different albums released digitally under his real name Jack Shelton. Because of his fascination with Reel-to-Reel Tape and Polyvinyl Chloride Discs as an audio medium, his new triple LP concept album, FINAL DORM ROOM DAZE: The Psychedelic Folk Opera, is finished but awaiting release. Because of his influences from Shoegazing, American Folk-Rock, Psychedelic-Pop and other bigger-band arrangements such as My Bloody Valentine and Neil Young, Jack Shelton set out to form the band Clouds From the Underground, originally a moniker used for earlier Lo-Fi releases. The current line-up features Andrew Cerami, Justin Angle and Tim Gummersall (of Tokyoto) as the main members. Clouds From the Underground is currently inactive, though Jack and Tim have recently collaborated on an LP titled KIND REGARDS: Daydreaming with... Tim Gummersall & The Anachronist.
