Last.fm's auto-correct system strikes again... This band is actually called The Freddies, but scrobbles end up here and there's nothing we can do about it. The Freddies was an ultra-obscure one-off project featuring three prominent Dutch music industry figures of the 1960s: Freddie Haayen (manager of Golden Earring), rock 'n roller Peter Koelewijn and Willem van Kooten (a popular radio DJ under the moniker Joost den Draaijer). They had a number of one-off projects like The Freddies, which started mostly as a joke. The Freddies' only 45, 'Comedy Is Over Now' b/w 'Heya' (1970) actually became a bit of a bonafide hit single. Van Kooten would later establish the Red Bullet record label, home to the 'Big Three' of Dutch rock in the 1970s: Golden Earring, Shocking Blue and Focus.
