Antonio Ivan Šangulin, aka: Fjaka, borned on December the 10th of 1993. in Berlin, is a young musician from Croatia. Now living in Biograd na Moru, he attends Music school "Blagoje Bersa" in Zadar, now the 3rd grade of high school. His music influences varieted over years, and his biggest influence are Progressive Rock/ Metal bands like Opeth , Tool, Riverside and Porcupine tree, , but also a lot of classical and jazz music, like Ludwig van Beethoven, J.S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Joe Pass, Stanley Jordan and so on. His music is very different in genres. It variates from blues/jazz and ambient to progressive rock/metal. In his early years, he was living in Zadar, and when they moved in Biograd he started to attend music school in Biograd. He was 7. When he went to preliminary, he was second on the list, after his sister. They both wanted to play the piano, but only his sister was accepted, and they said to Antonio that he can play classical guitar. So the first two years he played guitar and after those two years he wanted to quit, but his mom "pushed" him a little more, and thanks to her, he continued and now he is in high music school. He bought his first and present guitar, Squier bulletstrat, which cost 900 kn (around 180$) in 7th grade (13 years) with the money he earned, and his father bought him his first amplifier, Fender FM25 25 watts. He was so happy that he slept with the guitar that night. In later years he started to write songs, and his first song was hard rock monotone song with no lyrics and one solo. It was written somewhere around June of the same year when he bought the guitar. He started to write more serious songs 2 years ago from now ( 2.1.2011) and some of they were rock ballade and some of them heavy metal songs. As he like to play and improvize ambient songs which are inspired by David Gilmoures solos, he played and recorded his first song called, Sweet Sound of Inspiration. followed by the song In the Beginning. In 2010. he entered a competition in Croatia, Master 2010. with his song After the Storm. Later, by the blues and jazz influence he wrote a song called Feeling lucid, which included piano and vocals of himself. His latest song is called Foreverlasting life, and it's influented by Damnation, by Opeth , and a lot more from Porcupine tree and Riverside.
