Perranporth 4-piece The Beutons have been peddling their fine-crafted musical pasties since May 2010. Their hook-ridden original songs; delivered in their 'own inimitable way,' have seen them grow into one of most popular live bands on the Cornish scene, reaching the final of the south west's Battle of the Bands in 2012, and being voted 'Best Indie Band' by readers of the West Briton and Cornish Guardian. The original lineup consisted of Andrew Bellis, Trevor Hambidge, Daniel Bain and Jon Mallett. Drummer Jon Mallett, who came up with the bands name, left the group in 2010, and the band recruited new drummer, Darren Curgenven. Their debut EP I Wasn't Asked And I Don't Want It was produced and recorded between the gold-disc lined walls of John Cornfield's home studio in December 2012, and is released on March 1st 2013, St. David's day in honour of Andy's fiercely patriotic Welsh tendancies, on the band's own label Magic Stamp Records'. The band begin an extensive series of gigs and radio appearances to promote the record with a launch night at B-Side@Bunters, in Truro on March 1st with support from Tom Gall, Charlie Carroll and Saskia Maxwell.
