Wax Futures are a Telford-based three-piece formed in late 2011. Having earned comparisons to post-hardcore legends Fugazi, as well as a plethora of post-grunge bands, the group mix distortion, emotion, and self-deprecating humour in equal measure. Seen sharing stages with the likes of Idles, Slow Crush, Alpha Male Tea Party, Tall Ships, The JCQ and Gouge Away. Name a band that have played Arc Tan Gent festival - Wax Futures have probably played with them. Their debut single 'Breadcrumbs' was released in February 2013 on Wolf Town DIY on limited edition cassette, which promptly sold out. They followed this with A History of Things to Come, released March 2014 on Hometown Strategies/Distorted Tapes. In March 2017 the band self-released their most ambitious work to date in the form of mini-album The Museum of Everything, featuring the singles '(My Body is a) Landfill' and 'The 90s Called, It Wants Yr Misspent Youth Back.' Whilst the 2020 global pandemic put stops to their plans for touring, the band used the time wisely and built their own mini-studio in their lock-up in an old motorbike factory in Wolverhampton. Whilst the fruits of these sessions are yet to be shared, they did see fit to release a digital-only single in August 2020 ('The Lost Art of Writing a B-Side') which came from a 2019 session with Jimm Zorn.
