'Albion' is the oldest known name of the island of Great Britain. It is thought to derive from the white cliffs of Dover and is also the basis of the Scottish Gaelic name for Scotland, Alba
"Albion Metal" is used to describe the emergence of UK Heritage Metal bands and is used in contrast to the generic term "Black Metal" which some bands (especially Forefather) dislike their music being labelled.
The English band Iceni first used this term as their myspace headline and described their recent demo 'In Spirit of the Old World' (anno April 2010) as 'proper fucking Albion Metal'.
Agrona are a fairly new band whom also use the term directly.
