In late 2024, Peter Buck (of R.E.M. and The Minus 5 fame) and Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Mad Season) unveiled the debut album from Silverlites, their supergroup with the Black Crowes’ Rich Robinson and singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur. A mere six months later, Buck and Martin announced the formation of another supergroup: Drink The Sea, with Alain Johannes, Duke Garwood and percussionist, Lisette Garcia, with contributions from David Catching on slide guitar.

Alain Johannes is a founding member of the band Eleven and plays in the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures with Josh Homme, John Paul Jones and Dave Grohl for live performances. Duke Garwood is a British multi-instrumentalist with six studio albums and has collaborated with Mark Lanegan and The Orb. Dink The Sea's debut single, 'Outside Again', was released in May 2025. Two debut albums, entitled Drink The Sea I and Drink The Sea II are set for release in the fall of 2025.
