At Jaymes Thorps peak he attracted an average viewing figure of 93,000 viewers a week, and was signed up by “Current Pictures” in late 2005. They assured Jaymes Thorp that all he needed to do was keep releasing weekly videos on Youtube and to maintain high viewing figures. In November 2006 Jaymes Thorps viewing figures dropped from 93,000 to 11,000. Due to the increasing levels of hate and fake rumors spreading on the Youtube website, which quashed his performance and feared him creating more videos. Due to this dramatic loss of viewers within only a few months “Current Pictures” removed their contract. Jaymes Thorp stated that after being noticed in the streets by viewers and being sent gifts from fans he began to find it all too overwhelming for an internet broadcaster. Therefore he posted a video allowing his viewers to send him their number to allow him to call them up during two live finale shows. This saw huge popularity and it was mentioned in his video that he received in the region of 1400 numbers. These were the last videos on the Jaymes Thorp account before officially departing from Youtube.com. Within a matter of weeks Correlli Entertainment Management! contacted Jaymes Thorp after noticing his success on broadcasting website youtube.com. Debut Album with CEM (2007/08) Correlli Entertainment Management! whom specialize in electric, pop and dance music. They currently have contracts with over 120 music artists all over the world, Jaymes Thorp being one of their few British electro artists. In early 2007 they offered Jaymes Thorp a chance to publish a buzzing electro album which they can add to their portfolio of music. After the first month of being signed Jaymes had released his first single on his myspace account. This song remains as one of Jaymes Thorps favorite tracks titled Dance Floor Olivia!. Already single No! No! No! has been played in a electro nightclub in Worcester in England. With massive success. CEM now offer a range of merchandise including mugs and t-shirts of Jaymes Thorp, supported by American Apparel. CEM officially released Jaymes Thorps debut album INFERNO onto all music platforms and selected musical outlets within the United Kingdom by order only. The INFERNO album which is now active for download on iTunes in all countries, including singles No! No! No! and Gucci Gucci have sold in total to date (August 2008) 470 items sold. Special Appearances (2008) In August 2008 Jaymes Thorp made a surprise visit to website Stickam. Where he stared in an internet tv show all about electro music. There were officially 5 one-off live shows. The shows were open to any internet user to watch and short video clips were shared on under-ground music forum websites. Captions of Jaymes Thorp dancing and singing along to his favorite songs made their way to Youtube and VEOH.com. Dropped by Record Label CEM (2008) In October 2008 CEM (Correlli Entertainment Management!) announced they will be suspending their one year contract with Jaymes Thorp. Their reasons were that they were having financial problems and had to suspend many contracts which they had. CEM were the producers of Jaymes Thorp’s debut album “Inferno” and all related merchandise. They also fronted his one-off performance at The Tramps, Worcester (Electro Club). All merchandise releated to CEM has ceased production. Albums and Singles will remain on iTunes and other outlets as the rights to these products are still owned by Jaymes Thorp. AVALANCHE record label offer a deal (2008/09) On the 13th October 2008 Jaymes Thorp officially signed a contract with rival record label Avalanche whom are based in France. They specialise in neo-electro music. Their main aim is to revolutionize the sound of Jaymes Thorp and make his songs more european. Jaymes Thorp debated for a while as he has mainly been making music for the USA and UK market. Now working with Avalanche a new image and style will follow. Jaymes Thorp has confirmed he is a great fan of EURO-POP/ELECTRO. He beleives this new contract will allow him to become more creative and allow him to add a style to his music which he has always been highly fond of. The contract with Avalanche specified that they would only be releasing 3 new tracks under the Jaymes Thorp name. These new tracks will be released early 2009, with a few samples of the tracks already available on Jaymes Thorps official myspace music page. The Gucci Song Fiasco (2008) One of Jaymes Thorps most popular songs "Gucci Gucci" was sold to CEM *Correlli Entertainment Management by Jaymes Thorp. This sale included full rights to the song and rights to re-use the lyrics and beats, including the rights to public sales. Private live event sales were never exchanged. CEM offered to buy the content and right from Jaymes Thorp for an confirmed £872.90. This offer was agreed by Jaymes Thorp in August 2008. Within a matter of weeks after the sale CEM released the song Gucci Gucci by Jaymes Thorp onto iTunes as a independent single under the title "The Gucci Song". The Gucci Song Live on iTunes. The lyrics for the song have also been set for sale by CEM so other bands under the CEM brand may record new versions of the song in the near future. The single has been confirmed recently to have sold just over 400 copies to date. Jaymes Thorp understands he made a bad decision when selling the Rights to The Gucci Song (previously known as Gucci Gucci). Jaymes Thorp confirms he will not be selling the Rights to any of his material again.
