Beyond Colour are a hip-hop / alternative duo originating from the outskirts of Vancouver, British Columbia. The group began when emcee Bitter Taste Bud and producer Lekzbeats came to the realization that they shared the same musical aspirations to create dark, down tempo introspective tracks. After a few years of practicing their craft and performing live, Beyond Colour have brought their debut LP, ‘Sea Lions,’ to fruition. The 10 track album contains a collection of personal songs that give the listener the opportunity to be a voyeur into the elements that have shaped the paths of the duos’ lives. On the group’s intentions with their debut album, Bitter Taste Bud reveals, “The overall goal upon completion of ‘Sea Lions’ was to create introverted backpack music. It’s not about cars, girls or any mainstream themes; our lyrics reflect a culture of head phone isolation, lost in the words kind of music. I have not heard an album that has opened up to me individually in a long time. We just wanted to put it all on the table, who we are, what we have seen, and why we are how we are.” Beyond Colour has begun planning performances for the upcoming summer months to promote their new album. Local audiences know they can expect their live shows to leave them entertained with emceeing, djing and beat boxing combined with a lot of heart, as the group’s dedication and effort to their music is always at the forefront of what they do.
