SHORT STORY: Mothracide is a NEW BCS based band spreading infectious overtly mindless metal to your earholes & earhole like orafices, currently made up of 4 dirtbags & a scumbag. Their music is evil and should only be played really loud in front of infants & families outside of church on Sunday morning... We are who we are, & knowing where we've been just allows us to be even better at being us. Assholes, pranksters, musicians, pooets, family men, Casanova’s, idealists, artists, & nobodies.

These are words we wear on our sleeves proudly. We make the music we make, because “why the hell not?” We like to laugh. We like metal. We like the occasional song that makes you think. We have seen This is Spinal Tap perhaps a million times each. I stress this because bands have a tendency to take themselves way too seriously, to the point that there is no life in the music, no soul in the show, no originality in the people. We instead state from the get go – what you see or hear is what you get. There's nothing but solid jams, Satan, booze, doobs, boobs & partying to be had. Now with that said & out of the way, on with the tale!!! LONG STORY: Mothracide! started out in mid 2006 as a joke side project between Will T of Fuck the Main$tream on Vox and Kobo & Manny of the BLASTRUDS on everything else. The guys were friends and had met growing up before forming the group originally called "MOTHRA" in the small South Texas town of BeEville, Tx. The name was chosen due to their love of old Japanese monster movies & the absurdity of it all, plus they were – lets face it – hammered. The band recorded their very 1st jam in 2006 and eventually released it in 2008 as an 8 song live album entitled: "From Larva to Monster: Live for the 1st time" still under the name Mothra on Fuck the Main$tream Records. Meanwhile, over the extended course of the two years before & following few years to come."D.I.Y." & "Sesos" were recorded in late '06. Will then moved to Kingsville,Tx to attend University the Summer of '07 - the band continued to record their would be follow up "This sh*** Is Stinks" now going by the name "The Mothra" because apparently there were multiple bands using the name “Mothra” at that point. Most of the material at this time was recorded via snail mail 2007-2010 & featured either Kobo or Manny performing tracks entire tracks separately with Will singing. 3 songs were recorded during this time; "Sandbox Games", "New Cliche", & "Callow". The band ended up rewriting, reworking, & eventually re-recording "New Cliche" calling it this time around "Newest Cliche". The song featured all 3 on board again. Fall '10 marked a number of changes. Kobo moved to College Station, Will moved to Bay City,Tx & Manny stayed in BeEville,Tx. Shortly after the moves, The Mothra! recorded one last track with the original trio via snail mail entitled "Tsunami Attack!" loosely based on the events surrounding the catastrophes in Japan at the time & the leaks at Fukushima. At the beginning of '11Will moved back to Kingsville and returned to school. Life went on & everyone focused on their other projects, families, & personal lives. Fall '11 the gears started turning once more & the journey of a new untitled record began. However, this time around for the meantime Manny is taking an indefinite sabbatical from the group. Coincidence or some say FATE saw Will move to Bryan-College Station in the Summer of '12. By Fall the newly rechristened group MOTHRACIDE! had finished tracking two "new" songs. These "new" songs are complete reworkings and recordings of “songs” from the live album "From Larva to Monster" they were "Unleashed" & "Battle Song". The new songs rocked but at the time Kobo had just started getting his new solo project Galactic Morgue fleshed out and it was too early to attempt to tackle a new live band. So instead it was suggested Will sing for GM. This unfortunately didn't last long due to school, work, life conflicts at the time but a valuable friends were made in the process & it gave the guys better a feel for jamming together again. The idea of doing shows with a live band is an idea we have tossed around for years. We'd jammed, practiced, & at one point way back in the Fall of '07 even booked a show [which ended up being canceled by the venue] so we just said “fuck it” & moved on to others at the time. We were too far apart & schedules conflicted enough to make anything practically impossible, but things are different here for the time being. During all this the “This Shit is Stinks?!?” EP was finally compiled, mixed, & released under the new name Mothracide to help garner interest in the band that never really was, until now. The EP was met with wild praise from those lucky enough to stumble across it. Ltd ed merch was also made and sold online to help build interest in this still budding beast. The hunt began for the right group of musicians to join us on this new journey & to finally become more then a studio side-project band but a REAL band. Spring '13 came and went with little luck finding anyone worth a fuck, on our level, or not already juggling 5+ bands. However, by Summer '13 Kobo's solo project Galactic Morgue was up & running playing shows and recording. After a night out on the town & some serious hanging talks again arose about the state of Mothracide. It was decided that fucker, Mik of GM, would handle bass duties, but a guitarist or drummer was needed to round out the band. Talks were held with several drummers none of which panned out, but a shot in the dark ad on Craigslist brought in a guitarist who clicked, got the tunes, could jam like a motherfucker, & who had a decent dirtbag sense of humor. This was Summer '13 & that somofabitch was Chris J. Currently, the band is hard at work rounding out its debut DEMO & is gearing up for a series of shows in the BCS area for Fall/Winter 2013. Recently, the band has been recording like mad men – having recorded more in the last 4 months then the band had recorded since it's inception. Their song “Can't Let You Live!” appears on the NEW debut comp. “Tight Rope Vol.1” from the newly formed Blind Puto Record label. The group is slated to appear on several upcoming comps from both Blind Puto Records & Fuck the Main$tream Records. More destruction to follow!!! NEW MERCH - SHIRTS, STICKERS, POSTERS & MORE COMING SOON!!! Mothracide = Death By Mothra... or something like that... Nuff Said!
