2009 has been a big year for Southway with shows and performances in the US and Asia including Seoul, Bangkok, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles (see 'Southway's youtube channel @ http://www.youtube.com/southwaymusic). 2010 looks to be even busier with shows in Europe (UK and Netherlands) to be added to the roster as well as continuing to build on the this years success in Asia and America. SOUTHWAY moved to the U.S. in 1995 leaving behind his hometown of Bristol, England. In search of a new base he couch surfed his way across the country passing through most major U.S. cities before settling in Venice Beach, California. Having spent many years in England playing clubs, pubs and bars he focused on writing and recording from his studio in the back room of his house in the bad part of Venice. The next few years brought new musical collaborators and new gear into the mix, giving rise to a period of rhythmic, dance orientated compositions under the pseudonym of ‘Pilot’. In 1999 ‘Pilot’ signed to San Francisco’s Mud records, releasing 12” vinyl mixes and playing to crowds of club goers in the blossoming dance culture of LA and San Francisco. In 2002, SOUTHWAY relocated to San Francisco focusing his work as a solo multi-instrumentalist/producer, leading to the release of his debut ELECTROGANIC in 2004. In addition to his solo work, SOUTHWAY is a producer for bands and artists in the bay area working from his studio South of Market (SoMa), in the heart of San Francisco. In 2007, he released his second album, SoMaPoP. Following his US tour this fall, SOUTHWAY will return home to the US this winter and relocate to the birthplace of American music, New Orleans, Louisiana to continue the promotion of 'Suitcase', SOUTHWAY's third full length album and begin working on its follow-up.
