The Dead Letters are a band from Kendal, Cumbria whose musical influences include alternative rock bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins & Nirvana, and also more melodic, power pop influences such as The Posies & Teenage Fanclub. Counterbalancing the heavier side there are also more introspective lyrical moments that echo artist such as Elliott Smith. The EP, recorded in the remote wilderness of the Lake District with producer Guy Forrester (Shack, OMD, The Real People) is a snapshot of the band who’s early work has drawn praise from the like of Bootleg Magazine (US), Planet Sound (Teletext/Online), and from American musician Ken Stringfellow (Posies, REM, Big Star) whose music is a big influence on the band.
