PENGUIN RESEARCH (PGR for short) is a Japanese five-member piano rock band consisting out of vocalist Ikuta Yoji (生田鷹司), bassist and composer Horie Shota (堀江晶太) who is also known as producer kemu, guitarist Kanda John (神田ジョン, also in THE STARVERS), drummer Shinbo Keita (新保恵大, also in DOPEDOWN) and keyboards Shibazaki Yosuke (柴﨑洋輔). All members (aside from the vocalist) also act as support recording/tour members for a variety of artists.

PGR released their first music video for SUPERCHARGER late 2015, and then formally debuted with the release of ジョーカーに宜しく early 2016. The song was used as the Ending Theme of "Durarara!! x2 Ketsu". Most recently they have released Fire and Fear as the OP for "Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria". They are signed with SACRA MUSIC, a sub of SONY MUSIC JAPAN which mainly houses artists linked to animation projects.
