Early members included Alexander “Ala” Heiler, Christine von Kutschenbach, Rainer Höglmeier, Willie Jakob, Sami Kalifa, and Petra Scheeser. The group represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest on three occasions. In 1985 they placed second with "Für alle", finishing behind Norway’s Bobbysocks. They returned in 1987 with "Lass die Sonne in dein Herz", again placing second, this time behind Ireland’s Johnny Logan. The song later became closely associated with the group. Their third participation came in 1992 with "Träume sind für alle da", when they finished 16th out of 23 entries. According to published accounts of the contest’s history, Wind are notable for placing second twice, a distinction regarded as uncommon among participants. 3. Wind was a Polish pagan black metal band formed in 1993 by vocalist and guitarist Lord Darkstorm of Darkstorm and drummer Lord Wintersky. The group released two rehearsal or demo recordings and one promotional tape before disbanding. Material from their second rehearsal, "Night My Queen", was later reissued in 2008 alongside Darkstorm’s recording "The Black Stone". 4. Wind was a Finnish dark ambient project established in 1998 by Mikko Virkki, also known as Wircki, who was additionally active in Hin Onde. The project’s music has been described as surrealistic neoclassical dark ambient incorporating synthesizers and atmospheric elements, and has been compared stylistically to Devil Doll. The project was renamed Varjosielu in 2000.
