Artist Biography For Tove Lo
Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson Known Professionally As Tove Lo Is A Swedish Singer And Songwriter. She Is Known For Her Raw Grunge-Influenced Take On Pop Music. Her Honest Complex And Autobiographical Lyrical Content Has Led To Her Being Dubbed "the Saddest Girl In Sweden". Raised In The Djursholm District Of Danderyd Lo Is An Alumna Of The Music School Rytmus Musikergymnasiet. She Formed The Rock Band Tremblebee In 2006. After It Disbanded Lo Pursued A Career In Songwriting And Earned A Publishing Deal With Warner/Chappell Music In 2011. Working With Producers Alexander Kronlund Max Martin And Xenomania She Became A Successful Songwriter While Also Recording And Releasing Her Own Compositions Independently. In 2013 Lo Was Signed To Universal Music Island And Polydor. The Following Year Lo Rose To Prominence With Her Debut Album Queen Of The Clouds. It Spawned The Sleeper Hit Single "Habits Stay High " Which Peaked At Number Three On The US Billboard Hot 100 As Well As "Talking Body". Her Second Album Lady Wood Was Released In October 2016 And Debuted At Number 11 On The Billboard 200. Its Lead Single "Cool Girl" Became An International Hit. Her Follow-Up Records Blue Lips 2017 And Sunshine Kitty 2019 Also Performed Well The Latter Spawning The Song "Glad He's Gone" Which Was Nominated For A Grammy Award For Best Music Video. In Addition To Her Solo Work Lo Has Co-Written Songs For Other Artists Including Lorde's "Homemade Dynamite" 2017 And Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do" 2015 A Song That Garnered Her Grammy Award And Golden Globe Nominations. Dirt Femme Is The Fifth Studio Album By Swedish Singer Tove Lo. It Was Released On October 14 2022 By Her Own Label Pretty Swede Records. The Album Was Announced Alongside The Release Of The Single "True Romance" On June 21 2022. The Album Was The First To Be Released Independently Under Her Own Record Label Pretty Swede Records After She Fulfilled Her Contract With The Universal Music Group. Having Complete Creative Freedom The Swedish Singer’s Main Inspiration For Dirt Femme Was Her Relationship And Journey She Had With Her Femininity Describing The Album In Her Own Words As “extremely Personal.” Written And Recorded Throughout The Course Of The Pandemic She Worked With A Longtime Collaborator Ludvig Söderberg As Well As With The New Ones Including Producers SG Lewis And Tim Nelson In Addition To Featured Rapper Channel Tres And Folk Duo First Aid Kit. Tove Launched The Album Cycle In January 2022 With The Release Of “How Long ” Her First Solo Song Since 2020. It Was Originally Part Of The Soundtrack For The Second Season Of The HBO’s Show Euphoria Until It Was Later Also Included On The Album. In June While Still Touring A Band Member Was Seen Wearing A T-Shirt That Had “Dirt Femme” Printed Onto It Revealing The Album’s Title Only Days Before Its Official Announcement And The Official Release Of The Second Single “True Romance.” “2 Die 4” And “Grapefruit” Followed As The Album’s Fourth And Fifth Single Respectively. Besides The Accompanying Music Videos For All Of The Singles Tove Lo Produced Visualizers Which She Calls “scenes” For All Of The Songs On The Album With Them Altogether Comprising The Dirt Femme Short Film.
