Artist Biography For Bedlam Abbey

Inspired By Artists Like Owain Pfyfe And David Monroe Bedlam Abbey Was A Group Brought Together In The Early 90's In The Denver Chapter Of The Society For Creative Anachronism In Order To Try To Promote Live Medieval And Renaissance Music In The Spirit Of ‘the Current Middle Ages’. The Two Founding Members Were Chris Wilson A Avid Self-Taught Player Of Early Woodwinds And A Fred Matzen And Talented And Experienced Guitar Player Who Would Initially Play Eagles Tunes At Fighter Practices. The Combination Of These Two Influences Met With A Great Deal Of Critical Success Amongst Their Small But Dedicated Fan Base The Group Played At SCA Events Local Street Fairs And Private Events Through Out Colorado New Mexico And Wyoming For Several Years Before Experiencing The Departure Of One Of Its Founding Members Wilson Toward The End Of The 90's. Bedlam Abbey Briefly Survived With Various New Members Doing A Repertoire Of Celtic Influenced Folk Before Disbanding For Good. By C Wilson.
