Bettie Black Is The Name Formerly Used By Liz Roze As Of August 2009. Her New Band Is Called Daughter Of Mars. After Graduating SFSU With A Theatre Degree In 1997 Rose Fronted Several Acclaimed Rock Bands In The SF Club Scene Such As Glow And Runaway Bunny. This Led To Her First Record "Mega". Dark Wave ~ Goth ~ Rock.....Although Bettie Black's Music Is Often Described As Alternative She Rises Above The Modern Titles. Her Musical Influences ~ And Use Of The Color Black ~ Have Strong Roots In The Past. She Shares Common Attitudes With Songwriters As Disparate As Joy Division Johnny Cash PJ Harvey And Johnny Rotten. After Graduating SFSU With A Theater Degree She Fronted Several Acclaimed Bands In The SF Club Scene Such As Glow And Runaway Bunny. This Led To Her First Record. Since Then She Has Continued To Write Innovative Material Drawing From Her Daily Experiences. “I Feel Like I Have A Channel Within Me That Constantly Sends Me Riffs And Scraps Of Melodies.” With Her Dynamic Performances Bettie's Music Provides A Backdrop To The Universal Heartache Of Healing The Human Condition. The Darkness Of Her Music Is Redeemed By The Confidence And Strength Of Her Words. Her Voice Is A Clear And Present Understanding Of The Struggle Of The Human Spirit.
