Artist Biography For Blaine Long

A Singer/songwriter From The American Tradition A Constantly-Evolving Artist That Writes And Sings Original Songs That Are Based On Life Experiences. He's Lived His Music Survived His Life And Goes Forward With All Lessons Learned. Blaine Grew Up In Tempe Arizona And Came From A Strict Christian Upbringing. There’s No Denying That Spirituality Can Be Heard In Many Of His Songs. Not Liking High School He Left During His Sophomore Year Only To Find Out What The Real World Is Like Without An Education. From Fast Food To Digging Ditches And Many Odd Jobs Later Blaine Discovered The Guitar Singing And Especially Song Writing. From 1993-2000 Blaine Fronted A Band Based Out Of Tempe And Released A Couple Of Albums Playing In Bars And Any Other Venues That Would Have Them. The Band Broke Up And Blaine Released His First Solo Acoustic Album “South Of Jarvis” 2003 . He Began Playing Solo At Coffee Shops And Bars. Believing In The Phrase “Never Write Or Sing About What You Don’t Know” He Moved To Colorado On A Whim With Little More Than His Guitar And Dog And Ended Up In Boulder For A Year. He Kept Working On His Craft Of Songwriting And Playing Guitar. The Next Year 2005 Blaine Found Himself Living On A Boat In San Diego Working As A House Painter To Make Money To Record “Slip 250” 2005 . During That Time He Met While Painting Her House The Woman Who Would Become His Wife Joni . Blaine Continued Traveling And Playing Out As Much As Possible And Released “Hubcapdiamondstarhalo” 2007 Which Was Recorded In Motel Rooms And Friends’ Homes Along The Way. Blaine And Joni Married In July 2007 And Soon After Moved Back To Arizona. Blaine Re-Recorded Several Songs From His Previous Three Albums As Well As Some New Ones For “Ten Miles Wide” 2008 . Blaine Continued Playing Out And Working Hard To Take Every Gig Available. His Popularity Grew And He Soon Found He Had No Time For A Day Job And Playing Music Was His Job. He Played Over 100 Shows In 2009 And Is On His Way To Doubling That Number In 2010. With More Than Enough New Material Blaine Released “Honey In My Coffee” In June 2010 With The Help Of Marcus Weeden As Producer And Bass Player. They Enlisted The Help Of Dan Tomlinson Lyle Lovett On Drums And Tim Rovnak Los Guys Pistoleros On Keyboard. “Honey In My Coffee” Is An 8-Song Album Based On The Dichotomy Of A Happy Home Life Versus A Typical Self-Destructive Musician’s Life. “I Promise Not To Destroy My Life For A Song Cuz If I Got To Be Away From You Three Minutes Is Just Too Long.” Blaine Is Writing New Songs Daily And Plays Out Several Times A Week. He Is Known For His Honest Songs Powerful Rhythmic Acoustic Guitar Style Warm And Soulful Vocals And Connecting With The Crowd Making Every Show Feel Like An Intimate Gathering. At The Heart Of Every Show Are The Songs And The Stories Bringing Characters To Life Through The Little Things We Say And Do That Carry More Weight Than Is Visible. Always In Service To Music And To The Song Blaine Is Most Comfortable On Stage And Describes His Passion For Music In His Song Cinnamon And Leather “I Love It Like A Heathen Loves That Sin. . .”
