After A 4-Year Career As The Lead Singer Of The Runaways Plus A Commercially Unsuccessful Solo Album Beauty's Only Skin Deep 1978 Cherie Currie Teamed Up With Her Twin Sister Marie Who Was Originally Also Invited To Join The Runaways To Record Messin' With The Boys 1980 . For The Recordings The Girls Were Supported By Well-Known Session Musicians Such As Steve Lukather Bobby Kimball Mike Pocaro David Paich Tommy Funderburk And Bill Champlin Amongst Others . Unfortunately The Album Barely Charted In The US So Before They Completed Their Follow-Up Album For Capitol The Sisters Were Dropped From Their Contract. After The Dissolution Of Their Joint Work Cherie Continued Musical TV And Film Appearances While Marie First Pursued Working As An Actress But Soon Entered A Civic Family Life.
