Chris Adler Born November 23 1972 Is An American Drummer Best Known As A Member Of The Metal Band Lamb Of God. He Also Plays The Piano Acoustic Guitar Bass Guitar And Saxophone. He Is The Older Brother To Bandmate Willie Adler And Is Also A Vegetarian Along With Bandmate John Campbell. Chris Attended Bishop Ireton High School In Alexandria Virginia Graduating In 1990. As Lamb Of God Gained More Recognition Throughout The Years Adler's Reputation As A Proficient Drummer In The Metal Scene Grew As Well. Typically He Writes His Drum Parts After Other Band Members Have Brought Him Some Riffs And Ideas. As Seen On The Killadelphia DVD Adler Tries To Create Unique Music While Not Taking Anything Away From The Riffs Or The Song Itself. Utilizing Strong Symmetry In His Drumming And Being Highly Skilled In His Double Bass Work Adler Also Creates Unique Sticking Patterns To Go Along With His Unique Double Bass Playing Style. One Of The Main Reasons For The Unique Sticking Style Is That He Is A Left-Handed Drummer On A Right-Handed Set. Adler Has Been Influenced By Drummers Of The Metal World Including Lars Ulrich Shannon Larkin Dave Lombardo And Vinnie Paul. As Well As Notable Jazz Drummers Such As Bill Bruford Terry Bozzio And Billy Cobham. In Addition To His Work With Lamb Of God Chris Has Also Ventured Out Solo. He Collaborated With Noted Progressive Metal Guitarist Ron Jarzombek On The Song 'The Near Dominance Of 4 Against 5' For Inclusion On 'Drum Nation Vol. 3' Magna Carta 2006 And Is Featured On The 'Live At Modern Drummer Festival 2005' DVD Hudson Music 2006 Alongside Shadows Fall's Jason Bittner. Chris Adler Uses Saturn Series Mapex Drums 12 Inch Mapex Black Panther Birdseye-Maple Snare Gibraltar Hardware Aquarian Drumheads Axis Longboard Pedals And Meinl Cymbals. He Designed His Signature 24" Meinl MB20 Pure Metal Ride Cymbal And Had The 12" Soundcaster Custom Distortion Splash Designed By Meinl For Him To Replace His 12" Paiste Flanger Bell. He Also Designed And Uses Pro-Mark Chris Adler Signature Drumsticks.
