Artist Biography For Cinématique

Vienna Austria 2008 - Present Cinématique Is A Band From Vienna Austria. It Was Founded By Alex Mallory Chris Augusti And Nico Sieder In 2008. The Band Started Without A Proper Direction Experimenting With Indie Rock But Soon Discovered Their Love For Uncommon Song Structures And An Atmospheric Cinematic Kind Of Sound. Although Mallory Says That The Band's Sound Could Change Anytime They Are Mostly Associated With The Post-Rock Or Art-Rock Genre Because Of Their Heavy Use Of Guitar Effects Extraordinary Song Lengths And Mallorys Sparse Use Of Vocals Sometimes Without No Real Lyrics But Only Gibberish Sounds Fitting The Music. Their Musical Style Is Influenced By Post-Rock Bands Like Sigur Rós This Will Destroy You Caspian And Mogwai As Well As Alternative Bands Like Radiohead Mew Or The Cure. In 2010 The Band Began Working On "Life In An Infinite Loop" Which Eventually Released In March 2011. During The Work On This First Album Some Of The Band Members Encountered Time Problems Which Forced Mallory To Write And Record Most Of The Album On His Own. This Also Led To A Restructure Of The Band Itself With Melanie Ebietoma Replacing Augusti On Bass And David Jäckle Joining As Second Guitar Player. In 2013 Melanie Ebietoma Left The Band Making It A Three Piece Group Consisting Of Alex Mallory Vocals Guitar Nico Sieder Drums And David Jäckle Guitar . On The 23rd Of August 2013 They Released A 3-Track EP Called "A Great Movement In A Static Moment". In December 2013 Their Second Album "Limbo" Whose Atmosphere Is Inspired By Playdead's Videogame Of The Same Name Was Released. Live They Are Currently Supported By Ulrich Hegewisch On Bass.
