Françoiz Coballa Is A Mexican Singer & Song Writer Born In Zapopan Jalisco Mexico. There Was A Lot Of Controversy Around His Supposed Death In 2007. Recently Since He's Been On Tour And Recording New Material The "dead" Rumours Had Stopped. He Is The First Child Of Three Brother Esmé Coballa Better Known As Justino Jimenez Now 16 Years Old And Sister Émilien Coballa Now 17 Years Old . He Was Born In Mexico When His Mother Ghyslain Basset Born In France In 1962 And Father Leon Tourim Born In France 1957 Later Named Coballa Moved To Zapopan Jalisco. He Is Also The Grand Son Of One Of The Darkest And Peculiar Delta Blues Singers Ali “The Racoon” Tourim A Son Of Hindu Immigrants Who Moved To New York City And Later Replaced Themselves In The Delta Area. The Racoon Only Recorded 16 Songs During His Lifetime Which Are In Possession Of The Coballa Family When He Was 21 He Went Travelling Around Europe And Placed Himself In France When He Meet Lisette Sanxay His First Wife. They Had Three Childs Two Died From Dysentery At Early Age And Only The Middle Son Leon Stayed Alive. Lisette Leaved Ali And Leon When Leon Was 13 She Married A Swedish Business Man And Ali Moved To England Where Ali Married Another French Woman Called Nadine Yule. Ghyslain Basset Was A Photographer And A Political Extremist During His Young Age. She Meet Leon When He Was Giving A Gig On The Université D'Artois Where Leon Used His Father Guitar Which Has The Writing “This Machine Kills French Rats” In A Woody Guthrie Style. Françoiz Never Actually Had Musical Learning In Difference To His Younger Brother And Sister Who Both Know How To Play The Guitars Piano And Have A Formation In Vocal Music. He Decided To Follow The Steps Of His Grandfather And Sing The Blues. He Started When He Was 17 Years Old In A Little Club In Zapopan Then Moved To Mexico City One Year After And Sharped His Style. He Came Back And Recorded In One Session Material Of What It Later Became His First Two Ep's. Françoiz Is Very Inspired Not Only By His Grandfather But Also By John Fahey Charlie Patton And Tom Waits. In 2009 He Started A Tour With His Backup Band Les Cochons Morts A Group Of Musicians Chosen By Françoiz All From Diferent Backgrounds Such As Franco Estrada From Mexican Electronic Project Pam Alejandro Centeno From The Local Disbanned Rock Band Delta Lalo Jiménez From The Noise Band Lapatentependiente And Diego Cornejo From The Folk Act Blue Bird To Name A Few. His Supposed Death Was In The Late 2007 When He Felt Down From The Stairs Of His House From A Very Surprising Stroke. He Was Taken To The Hospital Santa Maria Chapalita In Guadalajara And Later Died From Breathing Problems. Some Had State That He Didn’t Die But He Moved To Mexico City. Where He Now Lives With A Mexican Photographer And Keeps Recording And Working.
