Genocide Superstars Sometimes Shortened To Genocide SS Is A Swedish Hardcore Band. The Band Was Formed In 1994 In Örebro Sweden. They Are Known In Part For Their Connections To The Noted Grindcore Band Nasum With Whom Alriksson Once Played And With Whom Talarczyk Continues To Play. It's Also Worth Noting That While Their Band Name Has A Controversial Ring To It They Are Not Nazi Sympathizers -- The "SS" In The Band's Name Stands For "Super Stars" And The Band's Lyrics Have An Over-The-Top Offensiveness And Lust For Violence That Is Obviously Not Meant To Be Taken Seriously Besides Nasum Is Well-Known As A Politically Left-Wing Leaning Band At Least Based On Their Lyrics. The First Genocide SS Album Hail The New Storm Came Out In 1997 On Sweden's Distortion Records. That Was Followed Up In 1999 With We Are Born Of Hate Also On Distortion . On This Album They Altered Their Style To A More Obviously Motörhead-Influenced Style Of Motorcycle-Loving Drug-Fueled Punk Rock With Slightly Longer Songs That Is Averaging About Two Minutes Rather Than A Minute Or So Apiece . We Are Born Of Hate Was Reissued With New Cover Art By Relapse Records In Early 2002. read less
