Baroque Popsters Graeme Humphreys And Peter Keen Reunited For Their 2005 Album The Overflow. As The Song Writing Core Of The Late-80s To Mid-90s Band The Able Tasmans Their Latest Efforts Refine Past Accomplishments Offering Up A Melodious And Romantic Yet Quirky Album. Whilst Much Of The Music Is Written And Arranged By Humphreys And Keen They Are Backed By An Ensemble Of Musicians. As Such The Songs Feature A Range Of Strings And Brass Instruments With Scores Offered By Victoria Kelly And Kingsley Melhuish Respectively. Alongside Humphreys Piano Keen's Vocals Peter Scott's Bass And Craig Mason's Impeccable Drumming These Conspire To Give The Album A Symphonic Character But It's Not As Simple As That And The Album Has A Number Of Unexpected Twists And Turns. Local Music Luminaries Chris Knox Additional Vocals And Don McGlashan Euphonium Also Offer Their Services Along With Jane Dodd Contributing Bass On One Track. Recording Of The Overflow Took Place In November 2003 Prior To Keen Leaving For Britain And A Life Of Nautical Nomadism On The Royal Research Ships For The UK Ocean Research Service Leading On To Other Adventures And Trips Home As Often As He Can Make It.
