Artist Biography For Jenium

Jenium Were A Modern Indie Rock Band From St Albans United Kingdom. They Are Most Known For Their Song Tea & Taxes Which Features As A Downloadable Song On The Rock Band Series Of Video Games. Their Music Is Largely Influenced By Guitar Music Of The 2000s Including Arctic Monkeys Bloc Party The Strokes And Kings Of Leon. The Band Also Have A Strong Interest In Dance Rock Music From Artists Such As Foals Classic Rock And Pop Acts Such As Led Zeppelin And The Beatles And Post-Hardcore Acts Including Thrice. The Name "Jenium" Was Reported To Have Been Chosen Following A Drunken Practise Session Sometime In 2006 Where It Was Slurred In The Place Of 'Genius' By Bass Player Jack Freeman. Their Debut Release Beneath The Surface - EP Was Recorded Throughout 2006 At A Local Studio Owned By Hello Vocalist And Guitarist Bob Bradbury. May 2008 Saw The Band Signing To Open Window Records With Their Debut Album Scheduled For Recording In August In Anticipation For A November Release. The Band Started An Extended Pre-Production Process With Producer Daniel Crocker During Which Period Many Demos Were Recorded By The End Of 2008 An Album's Worth Of Material Was On The Cards. Jenium's Self-Titled Debut Album Jenium Was Finally Recorded In April 2009 With Ex-Abbey Road Engineer Bryan Smith Who Had Previously Worked With Spandau Ballet Chesney Hawkes And Various Bands Local To The Band's Native St Albans. All Songs Went On To Be Mixed By Smith With The Exception Of 'Close To Home' Being Taken Care Of By Umberto Cimini. The Final Mixes Were Mastered By Crocker And Released Via His Publishing Label Open Window Records On 7th August 2009. In Addition To Their Official Releases.
